It has been an exceptionally hot summer here in Upstate NY, which is sending many running for their favorite frozen desserts. This July marks National Ice Cream Month and many will be celebrating National Ice Cream Day here soon, which happens to be celebrated on the third Sunday in July. That is why this week was the perfect time to talk about our topic of the week – Healthy Ice Cream Alternatives in my Health in a Handbasket segment on Good Day Rochester.

I love ice cream – and I don’t think I know anyone who doesn’t! And I am all about going to the local ice cream shop for my favorite Hot Fudge Sunday on occasion. But what if you want to have ice cream, like, all the time? Simple, you just make a healthier ice cream alternative!
