This easy homemade cannabis suppository recipe is designed for anyone seeking targeted relief from pelvic or rectal discomfort. By combining a precise blend of coconut oil, cacao butter, and FECO, this method creates a powerful, customizable option that delivers cannabinoids exactly where they're needed most, without overwhelming effects.
Make sure you have purchased or prepared your FECO/RSO ahead of time, as this concentrated cannabis extract is essential for potency and must be ready before starting. While using cannabis-infused coconut oil is possible in a pinch, please note the resulting suppositories will be far less potent and not as effective for targeted relief.
Prepare the Mix
Set Up a Double Boiler: Fill a small saucepan with about an inch of water and bring it to a very gentle simmer. Place your small glass dish or beaker in the water.
Melt the Carriers: Add ¼ cup coconut oil and ¼ cup cacao butter to the glass dish. Allow them to melt completely, stirring occasionally. Keep the heat very low to preserve the beneficial properties of both oils.
Incorporate the FECO: Once the oils are fully melted, add 1 mL Full Extract Cannabis Oil (FECO) or Rick Simpson Oil (RSO) to the mixture. Stir gently but thoroughly until the thick, dark extract is fully dissolved and the blend is uniform. This may take a few minutes of gentle stirring.
Fill the Mold: Carefully pour or spoon the warm liquid mixture into your suppository mold. If using a dropper, work quickly before the mixture begins to cool and solidify.
Chill to Set: Place the filled mold in the refrigerator or freezer for at least one hour, or until the suppositories are completely firm. Once solid, gently pop them out of the mold and store as directed.
Notes
Safety First: Always use food-grade, body-safe ingredients in this recipe. Avoid adding essential oils, fragrances, or any other substances that could be too strong, irritating, or unsafe for internal use. The sensitive mucosal tissues can react to additives, so stick to the basic recipe for gentle, effective relief.
Molds: If you don't have a dedicated suppository mold, you can find small, cylindrical silicone molds online intended for ice sticks or candy.
Dosage: This recipe creates a batch. To calculate the dose per suppository, divide the total milligrams of cannabinoids in your 1mL of FECO by the number of suppositories your mold makes. For example, if your FECO has 700mg of THC and your mold makes 10 suppositories, each one will have approximately 70mg of THC.
Application: For menstrual pain, using a suppository at the first sign of cramps can be most effective. They are best used when you can lie down for 15-20 minutes afterward to ensure they melt and are fully absorbed.
