Why You Will Love This Recipe

This classic childhood sweet and chewy treat will give you all the nostalgia you need with the joys of cannabis.

These sweet treats are so popular and effective that my Well With Cannabis Community continues to rave about them!

Whether you make your own cannabutter at home or purchase mine, this recipe couldn’t be easier to throw together.

In this post, we will explore how to make these delectable treats, review alternate cannabis infusion options, as well as provide some expert tips so that your treats turn out perfect every time.

What You’ll Need

  • 6 tablespoons cannabutter* – Buy my Bliss Cannabutter or make your own. If you use the full six tablespoons of Bliss cannabutter, each square will have 25mg of THC. Adjust as needed by following the dosing guide below.
  • 10 ounces marshmallows – Approximately 5 cups. Mini-or is large, it doesn’t matter; make sure they are fresh for the best results!
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract – for flavor
  • ¼ teaspoon salt – for flavor
  • 6 cups cereal – Rice Krispies are this recipe’s classic staple, but you can use any cereal you want. Just stick with using 6 cups as called for in the recipe.

Here are some popular cereal options I’ve seen my community members make these treats with:

  • Cocoa Pebbles
  • Fruity Pebbles
  • Lucky Charms
  • Cinnamon Toast Crunch
  • Reeses Puffs

  • Step 6 – Add your cereal of choice.

Storage Instructions

You can store your treats in an air-tight container at room temperature for up to a week.

You can also store the rice crispy treats in a sealed container in the fridge, where they will last up to two weeks, or store them in a freezer-safe bag for several weeks or months in the freezer.

Alternate Cannabis Infusion Options

As with all things edibles, there is more than one way to infuse something. Below we will explore all of the different ways you could infuse this recipe.

  • Concentrates and extracts: Easily make these treats with concentrates like distillate or FECO. Just be sure to check if your concentrate needs to be decarbed first. Then, simply mix the concentrate with normal butter or coconut oil, and then prepare the recipe according to the instructions below with your mixture.
  • Tincture: if you want to use an alcohol tincture in this recipe, be sure to evaporate the alcohol and make FECO first.
  • Decarbed Flower: You can add decarbed flower or decarbed kief right into the flour mixture. Just be mindful of adding the right dose for you, especially if you are not a regular consumer of edibles.

Notes and Expert Tips

  • Use all things silicone, if you can. The marshmallow mixture is STICKY! Silicone baking pans and spatulas are your friends.
  • Cool the mixture at room temperature for up to 1 hour before cutting to yield the best results.
  • Ensure you follow the storage instructions and remember it’s best to place this recipe away from sunlight.
  • Be careful how much THC you add per serving, and always dose according to your needs.

If my jar only has 7 tbs of canna butter left would that b to much for a 9×13 pan of rice Krispy bars

  2. Hi Doug. Using too much butter can make your treats soggy, but maybe adding extra cereal and marshmallows may help.

I just made them with Fruity Pebbles and I drizzled white chocolate over them! Now they have to cool!

  4. Hi Vanessa. This makes us so happy! Thank you for sharing your success with us. 🤗

  5. Made my own butter. Kinda like one guy asked was 7tbs was too much butter. I had a little extra but they came out delicious aside from my squares being somewhere around 30-35mg per, this is an excellent recipe.! Thanks

  6. Hi Avery. Thank you for your feedback. We’re so happy to hear you enjoyed the recipe!

  7. Hi Chris. For making Rice Krispie treats with a twist using Cinnamon Toast Crunch, there’s no need to break them up. Keeping the cereal whole will add texture and ensure each bite is packed with its signature cinnamon flavor. Happy cooking!
