What You’ll Need
- 1 cup hulled hemp seeds – you can find these nutritious seeds in the grocery store or buy them online. They have a long shelf life, so it’s OK to buy extra and store them for future use.
- ½ teaspoon sugar – granulated sugar or cannabis sugar will work
- â…› teaspoon salt – table, Kosher, or cannabis salt
- 2 teaspoons (10mL) of Bliss MCT oil – Each 1mL of Bliss MCT Oil contains 2.5mg of THC and 2.5mg of CBD. 2 teaspoons contains approximately 10mL. If you use the full amount, this recipe will contain approximately 25mg of THC in total. Divide this by how many servings you make. For example, if you make 8 total 1-ounce servings, each serving will contain 3.12mg of THC. You can add as many mL as desired to achieve your perfect dose.
- Customize – Once made, you can add your own favorite flavorings such as cocoa powder, fresh ground cinnamon, chia seeds, sesame seeds, or maple syrup

Storage Instructions
You can store the homemade hemp seed butter in a mason jar with a tight-fitting lid or another air-tight container in the refrigerator for up to one month. Freeze any additional butter, if needed.

Hemp seeds, sometimes called hemp hearts, come from the Cannabis sativa plant. They naturally contain less than 0.3% THC and are not the same seeds that can be planted to grow a cannabis plant in the garden. They contain the same beneficial qualities as the hemp plant, but they will not get you high. They are safe for children to consume. However, don’t confuse hemp oil for CBD oil.

Hemp seeds and homemade hemp seed milk are not only nut and/or tree-nut free, but they are also free of the top-8 major allergens found in food, which account for nearly 90% of all food allergies in the United States. Be sure to check the ingredients label on the hemp product you are purchasing to ensure no cross-contamination has occurred during processing.
Some of the most popular plant-based products on the market today, like almond milk or cashew milk, are not suitable for those living with nut allergies or an allergy to tree nuts. Hemp seeds are naturally nut-free and tree-nut free, making them the perfect pantry essential. Hemp milk is a great alternative for anyone who is living with a nut allergy because it offers a new option for a plant-based milk product alternative. Sunflower seeds, sunflower seed milk, and sunflower seed butter are also great alternatives.
