What You’ll Need
- 1 banana: medium-sized, sliced and then frozen. If you don’t have a frozen banana, throw one in the freezer now!
- ½ cup frozen mango – or fresh, if you have it. But frozen makes this smoothies texture extra creamy.
- ½ cup yellow squash – seeded and diced. You can use fresh or frozen. Not summer squash season? Zucchini works great here, too!
- 1 cup milk: of choice, this can be regular milk, cannabis milk, hemp milk, or any alternative you prefer
- 2 scoops protein powder: optional, but this helps improve the nutritional balance of this recipe. I prefer unflavored collagen.
- 1 teaspoon honey – or you could use infused honey
- Ground spices – turmeric, black pepper, and cinnamon
- 1mL Bliss MCT Oil: Each 1mL of Bliss MCT Oil contains 2.5mg of THC and 2.5mg of CBD. You can add as many mL as desired to achieve your perfect dose. Other infusion options are noted below.
Note: a complete list of ingredients with amounts and printable instructions is located in the recipe card below.
Step-by-Step Instructions
- Add the frozen banana, mango, or squash, milk, protein powder, honey, ground turmeric, black pepper, and cinnamon to a high-speed blender.
- Blend for 1 minute or until completely smooth. Then, add in your desired amount of cannabis oil before blending again for 30 seconds.
- Pour the smoothie into your favorite cup.
- Garnish if desired, and enjoy!
Note: complete step-by-step printable instructions are located in the recipe card below.

Additional Smoothie Ingredients
Beyond just cannabis, this smoothie contains many delicious ingredients that are good for you, too!
Ground Turmeric
If you have never heard of it before, turmeric is a spice from the rhizome of the turmeric plant, typically ground into a powder form.
Turmeric has a vibrant yellow color which helps to make this smoothie so beautiful.
This ground spice is one of the most popular and common ‘superfoods’ on the market today and has been studied extensively for its role in reducing inflammation in the body.
These powerful properties stem from the important plant compound, curcumin, which is found in turmeric.
Curcumin is more bioavailable when paired with black pepper, which is why we have included it in this recipe (but don’t worry, you can’t taste it).
This is because black pepper contains a powerful component called piperine which has been shown to help increase the bioavailability of curcumin by 2,000%, according to clinical trials.
With the rise in the popularity of turmeric in recent years, you can now easily purchase it in any grocery store in the spice section.
Summer Squash
If you’re like me, your summer squash harvest from the garden has been out of control this season.
We have been harvesting nearly twenty zucchini and yellow squash a day, and while I have given a lot of it away, I still have about thirty squash sitting on my dining room table!
It is important to me to preserve our summer harvests as much as possible for the winter, which led me to the idea of freezing the squash to be added to smoothies throughout the year.
Summer squash makes an excellent smoothie base because it has a creamy, smooth texture and a milk flavor that easily blends with any other ingredients you use.
